The Salt Lake Country Club was the site for the June 22nd 2009 annual Habitat for Humanity Golf Tournament. As an official sponsor Red Olive was allowed four spots and sponsored a hole. We felt horribly guilty for leaving the rest of the team at the office to go participate in a public relations function, but it’s. It was a gorgeous day with temps in the 70s, couldn’t ask for better. Brad Hoen and Justin Wilde, our resident golf pros landed us square in the middle of the score board while Myself and Vince Stinson kept our humility in check.

After months of whittling down the list of web design firms with the not only the interactive capability but the usability experience to build an engaging site, Discovery Gateway has made a decision on a firm to redesign thier existing site. Our design team really digs the opportunity to work on projects that have no boundaries and where they can really express some creative freedom. Yeah don’t get to carried away guys, still needs to perform and be usable to kids and parents.
DG comped us some family passes to get some first hand experience on what they were all about, so we went this last weekend. Let’s just say my daughter had a blast! They have everything from a full size Life Flight helicopter on the roof, to a mock up KSL 5 news room studio there. They give kids the chance to not only learn about science, art, etc, but also real careers. I was born a tinkerer so it was right up my alley. Thanks for the opp, let the creative begin.
The Red Olive creative team took advantage of the amazing opportunity to develop a brand for baja racing’s TSA Motorsports. TSA recently migrated over to the baja circuit from competitive rock crawling. Collecting sponsors is an important part of any racing teams funding. Our goal was to build an identity around the TSA team that demanded respect from other teams and to wow prospective sponsors. Perk: Red Olive’s name appears on the race gear and the vinyl wraps for the trucks, a rolling billboard that competes. (Thanks again for that honor).
Below are some samples of the new identity, web design, and some collateral.
PREVIEW OF THE NEW DIGS:

Due next month is the new interactive flash website where you can keep up on the teams standings, events, race photos, and more.
Red Olive welcomes a new web developer to the team, Aric Beagley. Been here two weeks and he is currently attempting to convince the office that Ubuntu makes for the best desktop OS, the Windows guys had to laugh, and the MAC OS guys said what the hell is Ubuntu? Needless to say he isn’t getting very far with his campaign. However one thing we could all agree on, he has finally brought unity to the development team that (edit) jQuery seems to run more solidly across all the browsers for us in general than mootools. (/edit)
Aric was brought on to raise the bar with our web2.0 and ajax efforts. So far so good. His CSS, JavaScript, and XML skills are amazing and in his short time here he has already made an impact on our development processes.
And on a personal note, even though he is a die hard Mitsubishi EVO fan he has learned to tolerate conversations about the arch enemy the Shelby GT500, what a trooper.

Red Olive, a utah web design firm, is honored for the opportunity to design and develop the brand new website for SportEar which is the company responsible for introducing the first Micro Comfort Canal 100% Digital hearing/protection device to the sportsman.
SportEar’s products are like none else, they protect one’s hearing while maintaining the ability to hear when participating in activities such as hunting, trap/skeet shooting, wing shooting, auto racing, concerts, etc.
The new site is scheduled to be completed in April.
Red Olive, a utah web design firm located in South Jordan, recently was hired by Cluster Resources to perform some identity and web design work for their new business venture. Work that will be carried out will be 3 logos, one for their new sister company, one for the operating environment of their product , and one for their product. In addition to the logos, Red Olive will have the opportunity to design their new website.
Since 2001, Cluster Resources, Inc. has been a leading provider in the workload and resource management software and services for cluster, grid and utility-based computing environments.
All of us here at Red Olive are excited to be working with such a great company.
Red Olive is excited to welcome Brad Hoen to the team. Brad comes to us from the Entity Agency and graduated from UVU with a BFA in Graphic Design. He brings with him more of that “gotta have it” look we work so hard to achieve in our work. Not only does Brad accel at interactive design but he is also an accomplished illustrator. We were also very impressed with his package design, posters, and identity work which no doubt will prove valuable in the wide range of projects Red Olive will be challenging him with. An excellent addition to an excellent team, welcome Brad!
Red Olive design, a utah website design firm located in South Jordan, crafted a stunning new look and feel for the wonderful staff at Mity Lite.
Mity lite is the leading manufacturer in lightweight tables, folding chairs, stacking chairs, etc. They came to Red Olive with a goal in mind, and that goal was to enhance their web presence so that they looked like the leading manufacturer.

Habitat for Humanity, a project that operates solely on donations to build housing for those who could otherwise never afford to have a place to call home. After reviewing the work we had done in the past we sat down and talked about potential, after all was said and done Red Olive has been signed to design and develop the new look of Habitat for Humanity.
We feel strongly about their mission and donated our time to help expand their reach, in return they graciously offered to allow us to sponsor thier high visibility 2009 Golf Tournement.
The National Safety Council has awarded the Utah Safety Council website with the most Outstanding Safety Website award of all it’s 47 chapters. We develop web sites for the love of it but an unexpected award once in a while doesn’t hurt either. Thanks again for the opportunity to work on your project guys!
